In Hawaiian, “po’o” means “head,” so a Lei Po’o is a headcrown lei. You’ll learn to make a beautiful 21-inch Lei Po’o with Fall colors using a beautiful assortment of Autumn flowers and greenery (depending on availability). You’ll learn the wili style (pronounced vee-lee, meaning to wind or twist) to make your Lei Po’o.
Your teacher is award-winning San Diego lei maker Margery Ohlson. She’ll share information about how to prepare the materials and prolong the life of your lei po’o. She will talk about lei culture and etiquette, all while Hawaiian music plays softly in the background.
