In Hawaiian, “po’o” means “head,” so a lei po’o is a head lei. You’ll learn to make a beautiful 21-inch Lei Po’o using a beautiful assortment of seasonal flowers and greenery (possibly dendrobiums, spray roses, carnations, and alstroemeria – all dependent on availability). You’ll learn the wili style (pronounced “vee-lee” meaning to wind or twist) to make your Lei Po’o.

Your teacher is award-winning San Diego lei maker Margery Ohlson. She’ll share information about how to prepare the materials and prolong your Lei Po’o’s life. She will talk about lei culture and lei etiquette, all while Hawaiian music plays softly in the background.
